Harlot No More

I went to the International House of Prayer today with Jorge and Josh. It was incredibly awesome time with the Lord!
These last couple weeks the word "harlot" has been coming up everywhere, its a weird word I know but it has been. Today the Lord was just speaking into my life and I was writing what He was telling me so this is what came about from Him ministering to me. This next session of the blog is what the Lord was telling me, it is about a harlot and God having a conversation. It is a metaphor of the Christ's Church/His Bride and my relationship with the Lord all in one.

There I was standing on a busy corner, looking for someone to pick me up. Having my finest closes on, pulling up my skirt a little bit further to show more skin. Trying to get my idols attention. Feeling condemnation over my life knowing that this was wrong. Waiting for that momentary pleasure from the pointed one to kick in. Which is my other ideal that lives on the table. When my two idols meet they love each other and it's the greatest satisfaction ever but, it doesn't last. More and more they meet, the less and less I get satisfied. My strawberry field is going sour, I need more.
Living my weekend life is starting to flow and bleed into my happy life. I cannot hide it anymore I am a harlot.
For these deeds I do, I do no longer. What I have become is hostile, it is affecting others.
Something inside has said "Were you going now?" "Who will take you in?" "For I see you as weak, and I need, want, and love you." "You are going to be a witness for Me, you will be My Bride, for you are pure in My eyes. Follow Me and you will be set free, your strawberry field, your wants and needs, your grieving will be gone; Gone for My glory, My witness, you will be. Leave your father and mother, your so called friends, and do not look back, for you follow My path. Which is straight and less traveled. I love you My Bride and one day I will come back for you, we will meet and be married. And glory will be poured out over ALL. Follow Me and you will be satisfied."
For what is this You say? I do not understand, You take me how I am? I do not deserve, do not deserve, for I am a harlot, one with my idols. Many years ago virginity was lost. I am not pure, I sleep with the same. I do not deserve.
"You may have done ALL, but it will bring glory to My Kingdom. You do not deserve, but grace and mercy is poured out, the vail has been torn. The blood of My Son was poured out as an offering to sin. It concord more then sin it concord the out come of sin; death. Your sinful record has been broken, there is no record of wrong anymore, come follow Me. No matter how much you resist you are Mine. Walk in no regrets, with your head lifted strong. You are My Bride on the front-line, fighting with My power and spitting in Hell's face. Where you walk, I walk also, for nothing can strike you down.
Go forth, for I am yours, and you are Mine.
Proclaim the power which you have been freely given.
You are just like the prisoner who killed many, but no more shame, I saved Him

I pray that this motivates you to look at who you really are, and then look how God sees you. Are you living a righteous and holy life focused on Him?
Grace and Peace to you!

NOT Following the Yellow Brick Road!!

Up late again.. thinking of the un-human ways of God, and how they fit with us! The title of this blog is called "NOT following the Yellow Brick Road" because when you are following God you are put in situations that do not follow the normal pattern of the worlds understanding and ways.
Have you ever thought of "why do we do what we do?", I mean "why do we think the ways we do?" Everybody has morals even though you say you don't. You still have a definition in your mind about what is right and what is wrong. Were did those morals come from? I DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWERS!!!! Sorry to bust yo bubble. lol

That really has nothing to do with what I started this blog on!! LOL
Following Jesus is not a yellow brick road! Flat out.. lol
Look at Moses and the Israelites!!! Moses was lead by God in Exodus 3 and on, was to take the Israelites of Egypt out of Pharaoh's hand. When Moses was leading them it was not a straight shot. They wondered in the desert for 40 years. The people that Moses was leading were some what stubborn and would not fully put there faith in God. The stubbornness and faithlessness caused them to stay in the desert for so long. Try to imagine being Moses thinking "man this is not what I sighed up for" or "why am I doing this?". Moses did not even get to see the Promise Land. He was so faithful to die in the desert with the people of unbelief.
Who would of chosen that path? Not getting a bit of air-conditioning (a palm branch waving in you face) or a pillow to put yo head on (pretty sure they had those back then). Honestly I would not be the first one to jump up and down for that position. No lie.
How come we are not wanting those position, even when we want to follow God and want to do His will to the fullest? But when it comes to us we say "that is not God's will He would never lead me down that path", "I don't know how to do that".
Just because we think God's path will be easy or something we want, does not always happen. He will give you the desire for it, even if you thought you would never do that.
In Matthew 4, Mark 1, and Luke 5 it talks about these men left everything IMMEDIATELY to follow Jesus. Not knowing what might be waiting for them in the future All of these guys had jobs and families, and were already starting to get there lives in order (family business[fishing], tax collecting... etc) To an extent they had everything figured out on what life might look like from there on out. With saying that 10 out of the 12 died from unnatural deaths. (John died out of natural death he got old, and the other one was Judas the one who betrayed Jesus)

Who wants to be persecuted? Who wants to be tortured? Who wants to be betrayed by the world? I can honestly say 99.9% of us do not!!! But it is called and pointed out in the Bible that we will be persecuted for His name sake! 2 Timothy 3:12-

"Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted."

Not saying we are all going to be nailed to a cross or hung, but there is different ways of persecution. Ex. getting ridiculed, laughed at, rejected by the people of the world, punished for something you did not do......etc!
I pray that we have hearts that not fixed on what we think is right for our lives. God knows us better then we will ever know.

WHICH WAY WILL WE CHOOSE!!

EVERYTHING is different!!!

I am at my grandparents house in AL!! and they live on a lake which brings up this blog.
I was swimming in the lake while it was raining, which is so amazingly awesome, cuz when you go under water you hear the most beautiful sound in the world there is, no other sound like it!! It is like filling and hearing the fragrant aroma around you!! Trying to hold your breath a little bit longer than the last, just so you can hear the sound of God through the rain under the water!!
Its so beautiful when your eyes are just above the water and you see the rain hit as it ripples, it shows what that particular rain drop is like; the definition and character of that rain drop; each one has its own attitude and fragrance!! Not one rain drop was the same! When the ripples hit one another and share each others character they become one but still different, they bounce back using the other.
Then while admiring the rain I step on a rock it was not that big and it didnt hurt. LOL. This rock sparked this whole thinking of mine! It is really funny how God works! He made EVERYTHING and not one thing is identical to anything else. Yes, some may look the same and might be the same species or race but, if you look closely or hard enough everything is different. This is not talking about machinery or what ever man makes. I am talking about the natural things; trees, rain, rocks, people, animal, plants, etc...... When gazing at this rock I thought there is not another rock out there in the WHOLE world just like this one. It has its own shape, weight, size, etc... It is unique in its own way, (would have a pik of it but grandfather throw it some ware lol) it had different color and had mold/goe/mud on it and another part of it was 3 to 4 different colors.

{[(this wasnt the rock LOL)]}
I cannot get over that God is so powerful and so smart to make everything different!! Trying to even think of soooo many DIFFERENT things to make, you would think that He would run out of things to think of. He did create the brain and everything that goes in or out of it. I mean EVERYTHING is different!! I cannot wrap my head or thoughts around that EVERYTHING is different and how creative you must be to do that! Thoughts like this make me wonder that only God could do something like this. In saying that we(I am included in this) underestimate the power, knowledge, and knowing of God. We can think all we want on what is He is like but we will never know the what, when, where or why. We should tremble at the sound of the word "God" cuz we are soooo dumb down on who He really is and what He can really do. The detail God has put in front of us in this world is phenomenal, all we have to do is listen, look and be still!!!!
Psalms 46:10 (nkjv)
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
I hope this makes you think it sure did for me!

Grace!!

Ephesians 2:1-9
"And you were dead in your trespasses and sin, in which you FORMERLY walked according to the cource of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formally lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature, children of wrath, even as the rest. But God being RICH in mercy, because of His GREAT LOVE with which He loved us, even when we were DEAD in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and SEATED US with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the age to come He might show the surrpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by GRACE you have been saved through faith, and that NOT of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that NO ONE may boast."

We(I) are so bizzy we do not see what is really going on in our lives and so focused on the worldly things. Wishing that the flesh wasnt so week so, I could fill like I am standing on something. While filling independent knowing I can do it. (but is not ment to be that way) Some like to make scheduals for themselves so they can stay bizzy and fill like they are doing something. Others just get caught up in the day to day, moment by moment spill that NONE of us really look at the GRACE which is so freely GIVEN to us!!

A grace that is never ending.

A grace that is everlasting.

A grace that which was given to us by a price but never did we pay for it. So WE that believe will sit at THE right hand of God with Christ Jesus!

A question that I have is: why is grace sooo deep and out of our understanding that we are so flabergasted, blow away, crazy sounding when trying to explain it, and dumb founded when God falls on us and shows this action¡?¿!
Do we really need this beautiful grace, so pure, so rich, so perfinated, so thick that we cannot bare it?

Through faith and understanding that God can do anything; not by us at ALL. We are saved!!! We are a living example of Him, we are holy priest and saints of The Most Hight King. (1 Peter 2:4-10)

Home from the Wintry Wonderland!!

I am home now from the wintry wonderland of Minnesota!!!

It is hot down her in the ATL. It is pretty weird being home, no lie. But I will adjust it will just take time!! :)(:
Being home the Lord has not changed I have actually got a hunger for Him that I have not experienced before. Its pretty different!!! :)(:
A lot what I learned at school is helping during this season of my life!! For instance I learned that even through dry seasons of life, is when you grow the most. Like a tree during the dry season of life the roots growing deeper and stretch out looking for water!!!

Knowing that this is not the age I am living for and that one day Christ will come back and reign on a new earth while we talk together and worship Him!!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT, WE GET TO BE IN THE PRESENTS OF GOD!!!
While being at home I am raising support so I can go to Kenya, Africa in January, which is going pretty good. The Lord is being awesomely faithful in what He has placed on my heart and knowing that He is in total control over EVERYTHING takes a lot off my back!! LOL!! :)(:
If any of you are interested in helping the mission that God has set me on, then you got it!! Sunday September 27, 2009 at 12:30p.m. I am having a benefit lunch at First Baptist Church Lithia Springs to help me go to Africa. It will be donations only, and there will be door prizes!!! YAH!:D
The other thing yall could do if you wanted to help out is that you could pray that the Lord's will be done in Africa and the hearts there, for the team to come together as a family, and that we would learn the language easily!! :)(:
Thank yall so much for reading this!!
Have an awesome day!!
Peace, Love and Jesus

SonShine Festival!!!
:)(:

What is it you ask?
It is a 3 day concert with over a 100 bands that are Christian, and with all types of genie!
With over 5000 people at least; which most did not take a shower. (Even though they were there and free!) HAHAHA!!!
It really did not matter because you smell the same!!!!
LOL

What made this 3 day concert so SPECTACULARLY AWESOME!!!
Besides the fact of 3 days listening to Hardcore Screamo music... :)
In these concerts was the most preaching from the bands I have ever herd in my life. It seemed that these band preached the gospel more than the bands on the main stage. These bands we really giving the true authentic message of the gospel.
And bringing it in the form of these people by bringing it to there level. But not numbing it down.

The Holy Spirit fell!!!!
It was Saturday afternoon and we were in the building with all the merchandise. The school I go to had a table there promoting it. We all decided to pray for people. So we made signs out of cardboard that said "Need Prayer?" and "Need healing?". With in 5 to 10 minutes we had people coming and wanting prayer.
And God just feel on this situation. God used us to speak into peoples lives, by giving visions and prophesying over people that God had relieved to us. People also got healed from there addiction and health problems.
We had this one lady who came to us wanting prayer for her back. She had fell on it wrong and then she got in a car wreck. She told the girls praying for her (Ashley and Jamie) that her body started to get addicted to the medicine she was taking for the pain.
So the ladies started to pray for her and when they were done the lady immediately left. Then she came back around 5-10 minutes later. She was shaking cause all the medicine in her body was gone. She told the ladies that this happens when she does not have the meds. in her body.
So the ladies prayed again over her and her body and she ways HEALED right there!!!
PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
HE CAN DO SOME MANY AMAZING THINGS!!!

That is what made this weekend so AWESOMELY AMAZING!!!!!
Thank you for reading this testimony of God!!!
:D

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

What happens when you go to CHI City (Chicago) :D

For the forth of July:
some friends from school and I went to CHI=Chicago cuz Hannah and Tamsen live right out side of it. We staid at Hannah's on Thurs and Sat night. For Fri night we staid at Tamsen's friends house which was a very nice house. It was on a lake, well not exactly on the lake but was built right next to it! LOL
She(Tamsen's friend=Rachel{i think}) also had a indoor pool! :D How spiffy is that!!!
Any was when we actually went to CHI City it was beautiful!! It has to be the most beautiful city I have ever seen! (and clean to)
You can look at the pics on Picasa (which if I get it to work right you will be able to click on the pik that is on the blog and it will take you to the whole album, on Picasa) or you could find me on face book and do it that way!!!
FIRST OFF: Before I tell you anything about CHI City we got there by train and it was the FIRST TIME I have ever been on a train!! IT WAS SO COOOLLLL!
From CHI=Chicago

The greatest part about CHI City besides chillin in it like we lived there and the great pics and not so great LOL!
I got to talk to a homeless person sitting on concrete post on the side walk, Sarah was the one who first was like "hey lets go back and talk to this guy"
So we(Sarah Halburge, Abby Johnson, and me) talk to him for a min. Then Sarah went to get him a drink along with Abby who got him a burrito. Mean while while they were getting him food.
I got to talk to him on a personal level, his name was Mahmoud. He has lived in CHI City his whole life. The exciting part he knows that Jesus Christ is his Lord and Saver and know that He was a plan for his life. Even that means he will be homeless all his life or not he knows that God is in control, and that he knows he is going to Heaven!! It was a delight to talk to him and see how life is going for him. It was pretty incredible!! (sorry I didn't get a chance to take pik){didn't want to make him fill like an attraction}
From CHI=Chicago

From CHI=Chicago

After a while of walking around CHI City we ate real CHI deep dish pizza and it was goooooodddd!!!
Then at night we went to see the Fireworks by the bay! It was really pretty and got great piks.

Then while we were walking back I got in a conversation with a dude named Bruce! We just casually talked about were good food was and what his favorite spots were, and then BAM (here it comes)! He told me he believed in God! I ask him "what do you mean by that?" He said "I am a Christian"! Then we shook hands like we were brothers, cuz I told him "I believe that Christ died for me also"! Then opened a whole new conversation in play. He opened up and told me he just got out of prison about 2 to 3 day ago! And how the Lord has blessed him sense he got out! [I for got to say he got saved while in prison]
He found a place to stay for really cheap and that he all ready has a job lined up in the next week or so.
Then we had to go separate was and we prayed for each other.
{I do not want these experiences that I am telling you to come across like "Ah, look at Drew he is such a good kid!" or "Man what a show off"}
I am telling you these things to tell what God is doing in my life and how He is forming in with each situation that He puts me in!
Then we went back to Rachel's house to sleep!!
Saturday we(Hannah, Sarah, Zack and I) went back to Hannah's house to chill, and do nothing!! We went to go see the Fireworks in her town which were so much better than CHI City (surprising I know!!) LOL :D
From CHI=Chicago

Then after that was watch the stupidest movie ever but still funny(funny cuz we were up so late)!!! {the movie= 'The confessions of a Shopaholic }
I suggest ever person who loves shops see that movie!! But if you don't its no biggy! (that way you do not waste you life!LOL)
Then the next day we went to Hannah's church!!! Which was very big about 1000-2000 people!
After that we went to this place called 'Beef-a-Roos'. It's bascially like a 'Stake-n-Sake' or 'Johny Roket's'.
The funny part about this little adventure was the Loaded Bake Potato!! It was good but they added some extra sauce in the corner of the contaner it came in!! It was about an inch and half long and about a half inch tall of PURE GREACE!!!!! So that was really funny I pured it out and it slowly make its way to the try and when it gently tapped the tray it instantly started to absorb into the paper on the tray. and it soaked up to napkins instantly!!! It was very funny and gross at the same time!!!!! LOL {the laughs you get out of the weriod things in life!}
After that the other people that stayed at Rachel's house meet up with us at Hannah's and headed back home to BCOM (Bethany College of Missions)!
Man it was a fun ride home!!!
You know when your in the car to long and you start to act really werid that HAPPENED, and to put a funn little twist on the trip we got a little lost on the way back LOL.. hahahahaha!! LOL
From CHI=Chicago

We I hope this wasnt to boarning for you or too long!
Hope you have a fantastic week! and toon in next time Drew's life!!! LOL

Sorry so long!! Quick update!!! :D

Like in the last month!
Sorry it has been so long, I am really trying to do two of these a month but it is not really working it is kind of hard to do one a month. I am going to try to make it short and sweet because if it is to long no one would want to read it! LOL :)(:
Any was!! :D
We(Students and I at Bethany College of Missions) are still in school, we will be in school for about 7 to 8 weeks left. Man it has flown by. Sense the blog we done an out Out-Reach ministry week! It was a lot of fun. We hook up with an organization call "Good in the Hood" and did evangelism in downtown Minneapolis. We first did cardboard ministry. "What is that?" Great question, I did not know what it was either. We put in short amount of letter as we could, our testimonies. Testimonies of what God did through and how He brought us out of the darkness of our sins and into His glorious light! It was awesome standing on the ground knowing that God is the reason that I am here were I am at right now! :D
We went into different parts of the city and fellowship with people and shared the Love of Christ. Some rejected some loved the attention and love.
The last day we had a cook out with hot dogs in the church parking lot that was hosting us. We invited people at the beginning of the day telling them that we are having a cook out (free food)and prizes. We had games for kids, free Bibles and free stuff to hand out. We had a time that one of our students shared what God has done in His life and what He is still doing in His life.
It was so amazing how many people showed up! We had around 700 hot dogs and they were all gone, with one pack left over and people were full. WOW! God provided big time!
The coolest part about this week was after we down cleaning up some people were still hanging around and we were playing soccer in the parking lot. In that time a man wattled up that was pretty drunk. You could smell the alcohol on his breath. I could go on about what he looked like but the greatest thing was that we(Two girls name Naomi, and Aly, one other dude named Nate) were able to witness to him for about an hour or so. But it was kind of different and hard in a way cuz he was drunk. But we really got to pray for him and really listened to his heart and what he is dealing with in life! (if you want to see more pictures for this week you can go to my facebook link for the pictures is,
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/album.php?aid=97447&id=662361105)

That was last month so, what is happening now is I am taking a class called "God heart for Israel and the Jewish people". It is really an amazing class. I have not noticed how much the Jews and Jewish culture has influenced the Christian world also our beliefs. (All biblical of cource)
I do not know what else to say about that its is just an awesome class. It has hit deep.
The team(People that are going to Kenya with me) and I are starting to hang out and getting to know one another better. Last weekend we went to Aly's house for the whole weekend. Which was so much fun we got to know kind of what it is going to be like when we live for with each other. (if you want to see pictures you can go to my facebook)
This weekend we are going to Nate's house to have an another awesome opportunity to get to know one another and how it it to live together. (do not worry we sleep in different rooms)
I am really excited for this coming up weekend is that we get to slaughter chickens. I have always wanted to kill my dinner. LOL :D
Do not worry Ill take pictures.:)(:
I Hope ALL of y'all have an AWESOME week and may it be blessed by the Almighty God in a way that is out of this world!!!
:()))((():

There and Back agian, A Nicaragua tail by Drew Powell!

Hay people of the world :D
So sorry I have not blogged in a very long time. I am not going to give an excuses cause there really is not any :D
I thought I would tell ya about the trip to Nicaragua that I went on in April. :)(:
Okay!! We (meaning around 16 students from my college and 5 adults from the church that is connected to the school) went to Nicaragua Friday April 10th and we stayed there through April 19th. We went to a city called Managua, and we were on the shore of Lake Nicaragua, and about 7 miles form Volcano Island. It was sooo00OO BEAUTIFUL, to see God's glory every minute of the day.
While there we went to the dump were the kids live that we witnessed to during the camp we had for them. It was such an eye opener to see what are people live. It was funny you would think that it would be a gloomy and depressing there. But it really is not God is there and you could see it. Kids were smiling when you played and gave the attention. A man was reading the Bible on the side of the "road"(a dirt pathway). We talked to him and learned his dally schedule. He was telling us how God placed him in the dump for a reason and that is his mission field. He told us "if you cannot witness in your own backyard then, you cannot do it in different countries." :D Every encouraging guy, he also prayed over some of our team.
After the dump we went to a volcano. A real active one, it was so much fun and beautiful like no other!!
Then the next day we prepared that camp for the kids who were going to show up on Monday. :D
The kids were around 6-12 years of age. When they got there to the camp they looked tough and acted like it. By the end of the 3 days we spent with them they did not want to leave and we did not want to live. The reason is of what they were going back to. Most of the girls by the age of 13-16 are sold into prostitution. The reason is there parents either do not want them or they sell them so there family can eat. The guys will probably live in the dump the rest of there lives or die of overdose, by sniffing glue. They might get a job in the dump by separating the plastic from metal.
In light of that, God did a lot through those 3 days with those kids. Some kids started to take other peoples tray and wiping off the tables that were dirty. :D
These kids have touched my life and has made me a look at life in a totally different way.
After the 3 days of camp we helped around the camp, doing what they do when no kids are there. :D We painted fence pots, moved stones, cleaned sorted closes and such, painted a roof, and scooped manure for fertilizer.
God taught a lot things to me and the group that we went down there!!
Praise God for His blessing on my life and the kids down there. :)(:
If would like to know more detail about the trip, you can respond to the message through another message or you can email me at drew.powell@bcom.org.
Have an awesomely blessed day in the Lord!! :D

Going Places!!! :D

God is taking me places!!!
:)(:

Going down the path of His will :D

Hello everybody!!!!
(that includes people readying it off my blog and on facebook or if you are looking over someones shoulder:)

Your probably wondering what "Going Places" means from my stand point LOL!!! :D
This means that I am going to places in God's will for me and geographically in He's will. And I am super excited about it!!
God is taking into a place in Him were I have never dreamed of. He is show me sides of Him self that I would never of guess of and our relationship is getting hardcore deep.......... LOL!(the reason there are so many dots after that is because, there is more yet to come about that) He is taking me into a way deeper meaning of His name, His love and His power! MAN!! its AWESOME!
That is what I mean by "Going Places" and the other part is, when I said geographically that meant God has called me to do my internship in Kenya, Africa. Which I will be there for about 16 months starting in January 2010!!!! !!!WOW!!! Excitement is running through my body!!!
Then for this spring brake (which starts April 10th) God is wanting me to go to Nicaragua, to work with kids from the dump. YES!! I just said the dump, people down there live in dumps there houses are made out of garbage and they get food from there to eat. Gross isn't it, so we are going to be going down there to the dump and praying with them/for them and getting to know the people. Then later on that week we are going to take some kids out of the dump and going to put them in a day camp for a couple of days. We are going to be playing with them, do a little VBS (vacation bible school) and having lots of fun. We are going to present the Gospel, teaching them english and putting on skits/plays for them. We are going to go swimming with them and going down this kick butt water slide that pumps a lot of water. :D We are going to be doing this at a camp that is down there, that does things like this. :D
This week my parents are coming up from the ATL!!

Drew's News
Hello awesome people of the world!!
Welcome to Drew's News.
This is my blog entries that you will be getting at a weekly basis, hopefully. :D

Thank you so much for choosing to be a part of the life of Drew. LOL!
I am currently at college called Bethany College of Mission in Bloomington Minnesota training to be a missionary. Besides of sitting in class and going to chapel, right now in life we as a student body are doing an out-reach at the University of Minnesota. During this time God laid on my heart to do a Bus ministry, talking to people about God's word and talking with them about what they believe in. It has been an awesome time doing this and God has taught me a lot from using know believers to people that do believe. Every week is a surprise on what I get on the bus from talking to people. There is never a week that repeats itself, you can read my former blogs to here some stories.
The main conversation that had this pass week on the Bus was so incredible, I talk to a girl about "why do we have to "force" (is the word she used) the gospel on people? and why can't we just leave everybody alone to worship there own God, in there own way"? (She believes in coexistence=Meaning living in one accord and having peace between each other. Also means leaving each other alone in there own way on living and through that there is peace.) Those are the type of conversation that I get to have and I love it because it makes me dig into the word more. It also makes turn God and His wisdom, not on man's wisdom.
I just stated a new class this week on 1 Corinthians, and it is going to be awesome!!
When that is over we have spring brake and during that time I am going to Nicaragua in South America to be a camp councilor for kids that live in a really poor part on town. Which hang out at the local dump for fun and the reason they hang out at the dump is that they do not have money to go to school because you have to closed toe shows to go.
So we "we meaning people from school and people from Bethany Church" are going down there to set up a camp for a week to get them out of the dumps, give them shoes and to have an opportunity to present the Gospel. :)(: We are leaving April 10 to go down there so be prayer for us and the kids down there.
Thank y'all so much for listening to Drew's New!! :D
May y'all all have an awesome and spectacular week!!!
:))(((:
Peace Love and Jesus Drew Powell

Been long time!!

!!!Holla!!!
I was debating on what to blog about cuz it has been a long time sense I have blogged. I could blog about a lot but I wanted to blog the most important things! lol
But everything we do needs to be important by impacting the kingdom of God.

God is taking me through the book of Song of Solomon right now and it is flippin AWESOME, AMAZING, EXUBERANT, FANTASTIC, basically flat out INDESCRIBABLE!!!!
He is showing how His deep and embracing His love is!!!!
And I am not even out of Chapter 2! :D

The other thing I want to tell yall about is we as a college go up to the University of Minnesota every Monday night and do an Out-Reach there with a church there called So-Journ.
We as a college do different out-reaches to help reach different parts of the U of M (University of Minnesota) campus.
We do Out-Reaches like going to coffee houses and talk to people about God, going to different Muslim study groups and talking with them about what they believe in, going to a woman's pregnancy talking to women about abortion, International group where they meet with a group of of internationals each week and do some fun stuff, going and cleaning frat houses, healing group that goes to hospitals, there is a group that stays back and prays the whole time that we all out doing God's will, there is hot cocoa team that hands out hot cocoa and ask people to pray for people, there are people that go to an open mic night and share testimonies and poetry of God, and there is a bus group that goes on buses and talks to people about Christ, and I am probably missing some other out-reaches but I cannot think of them. LOL! :D
If I could ask yall to pray for the out-reach that God put on my heart to start which was the Bus out-reach. That everything will be His in this out-reach and none of it will be mine not even the idea was mine it was all His idea.
God has been doing through me for about 4 mouths I really want to know that it is not in my hands but His. :D
I can really give a testimony that it is God's and not mine. :D Its really exciting!!! We as a group "we" meaning the bus group have been riding the same bus for about 4 solid mounts almost 5 and our out-reach statement is Luke 10, which talks about going out in twos and finding people of peace. When you find those people you stay there you do not leave. :D On the route we are on we have found our people of peace one of my friends His name is Justin he made a great relationship with a person. Whose name is Stephani and she plays the violin, and its really funny because when we are not on the bus when we have like brakes for school or something like that or Justin is not there she ask question like 'Where are they?' it is like she expects us to on there. :D it is so awesome!!!:D
Another person that is a person of peace is... opp I forgot her name but oh well but she is a great person. We had a great conversation the last time on the bus about the class she is in right now and about what they talk about. She is in this sex and human class and in class that day they talk about how porn influences the world these days and is it really addicting or not. So that's what we talk about and we shared each others views on it. We both did not completely agree on everything. But we did not argue about any of it or get load we did it in a nice and respectable manor it was really quiet fun. :D We wont get into detail,
but if you would like to know more please give me a call I do not mind talking about. :D
Will that is what God has called me to do on Monday nights on U of M campus
Praise God!!! for His loving embrace!! :D
To day I got to talk to people from back home man that was a lot fun it was nice to see them :D
Praise God for skype no joke!!! :D
I got to see form cuz it was D-Now weekend and a bunch of the girls were staying at my house for the retreat. My mom loves hosting those things God gave her such a heart of hospitality its amazing. :D
Well that is what is going on in the life of Drew Powell!!
Thank you for tuning in, check in next time for the exciting news of
Pursuing to go Upward

A Fun Winter DAY in a WInterWonderland "Narnia" :)

Allo There!!
Today was another little fun day at Bethany we had an awesome teaching of the book of Acts Tony Hedricks!!!! WOOOOOHHHH YA!!! He is an amazing guy.... You should join his facebook group. :D -its called "Dude I love Tony Hedrick"- He laid on the floor today just to make a point. He makes you think of the scripture at a whole different perspective. If you want his teachings I can skype them to you. :D
http://tonyhedrick.wordpress.com/2009/01/28/the-book-of-acts-bcom/
This is his blog I think and I am in the picture on it lol :D I am in the mid right. And this wedsite is his art work. :D http://www.flickr.com/photos/hedrickswatercolors/

Then today at work was the funniest thing ever...... you know how when you go into the bathroom your suspecting the same sex to be in there when you walk in there well, when I walk in there I was in for a real treat there was someone in there cleaning from cleaning crew and it was HISTORICAL!!! The only reason it was so funny was because its never happened and I was not expecting it lol!!!... So what did I do you ask? I propped the door open to the bathroom and we started to have a conversation about how weirdo/awkward this was and about the random stuff about life and how many people this person as walk in on in bathroom.

After work we had this thing called "WINTER WONDERLAND" it was a lot of fun the mentors threw it together for us and it was set up like Narnia. The mentors all dressed up like the charaters from the movie and it was really funny and good. They had skits and games and random prizes and I found out that I am the "MOST LIKELY TO PLAY THE UKELELE IN A SOUTHERN GOSPEL BAND!!!!" YAAAaaaa get that trash "that means a good thing" for those who dont know me. :)
Here are some piks :D

Starting the New Chapters in Life!!!

Hey folks!!!
This blog is going to let y'all know what is going on in my life during the missionary training I have been going through. For the last 5 months I have been attending Bethany College of Missions in Minnesota and God has opened my eyes and ears to His word so much more. He has taught me how to be passionate and listen to Him and meditate on His word and what He has to say. It says in Psalms 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
Hopefully you will intrigued on the journey with me with me as I pursue God's will :D
and tell funny storyies lol haha.....
