NOT Following the Yellow Brick Road!!

Up late again.. thinking of the un-human ways of God, and how they fit with us! The title of this blog is called "NOT following the Yellow Brick Road" because when you are following God you are put in situations that do not follow the normal pattern of the worlds understanding and ways.
Have you ever thought of "why do we do what we do?", I mean "why do we think the ways we do?" Everybody has morals even though you say you don't. You still have a definition in your mind about what is right and what is wrong. Were did those morals come from? I DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWERS!!!! Sorry to bust yo bubble. lol

That really has nothing to do with what I started this blog on!! LOL
Following Jesus is not a yellow brick road! Flat out.. lol
Look at Moses and the Israelites!!! Moses was lead by God in Exodus 3 and on, was to take the Israelites of Egypt out of Pharaoh's hand. When Moses was leading them it was not a straight shot. They wondered in the desert for 40 years. The people that Moses was leading were some what stubborn and would not fully put there faith in God. The stubbornness and faithlessness caused them to stay in the desert for so long. Try to imagine being Moses thinking "man this is not what I sighed up for" or "why am I doing this?". Moses did not even get to see the Promise Land. He was so faithful to die in the desert with the people of unbelief.
Who would of chosen that path? Not getting a bit of air-conditioning (a palm branch waving in you face) or a pillow to put yo head on (pretty sure they had those back then). Honestly I would not be the first one to jump up and down for that position. No lie.
How come we are not wanting those position, even when we want to follow God and want to do His will to the fullest? But when it comes to us we say "that is not God's will He would never lead me down that path", "I don't know how to do that".
Just because we think God's path will be easy or something we want, does not always happen. He will give you the desire for it, even if you thought you would never do that.
In Matthew 4, Mark 1, and Luke 5 it talks about these men left everything IMMEDIATELY to follow Jesus. Not knowing what might be waiting for them in the future All of these guys had jobs and families, and were already starting to get there lives in order (family business[fishing], tax collecting... etc) To an extent they had everything figured out on what life might look like from there on out. With saying that 10 out of the 12 died from unnatural deaths. (John died out of natural death he got old, and the other one was Judas the one who betrayed Jesus)

Who wants to be persecuted? Who wants to be tortured? Who wants to be betrayed by the world? I can honestly say 99.9% of us do not!!! But it is called and pointed out in the Bible that we will be persecuted for His name sake! 2 Timothy 3:12-

"Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted."

Not saying we are all going to be nailed to a cross or hung, but there is different ways of persecution. Ex. getting ridiculed, laughed at, rejected by the people of the world, punished for something you did not do......etc!
I pray that we have hearts that not fixed on what we think is right for our lives. God knows us better then we will ever know.

WHICH WAY WILL WE CHOOSE!!
